My weight loss story in the NS Newletter
Hi guys! I was very honored to have my weight-loss story featured in the NS newsletter this week. It makes me feel like I've really achieved what I wanted to achieve during these last few months. There were so many NS members who took time out yesterday to congratulate me on the story, and on my weight loss, and it really means so much to me that everyone is so supportive! I only hope I can give as much support back to people on the boards as I have been privileged to receive. Thanks to all of you for making this process such an enjoyable one! I'm now at 127 lbs, as of a few days ago, and I'm hoping to possibly lose down to 120. I figure if I've come this far, I should just go ALL THE WAY! My original goal weight of 130 lbs seemed so IMPOSSIBLE at the time I set it, and I can't believe I have come this far, and beyond. Thanks to all you guys for being such good friends to me each and every day on the support board! If you haven't seen the newsletter, and would like to, click here:

Amy, I've been following your success and am truly impressed what you've accomplished in such a short amount of time. Not to mention the help you give other NS members- I think i'm going to start doing NS on my own as well as my loss is extremely low and i'm bored with the pre-packaged food-I'm also a stay at home mom with 2 kids (ages 3 and 8) both girls-i've copied and printed the guidelines you have posted and i also have a copy of the NS Nourish Book-maybe after another month i will do this- i also have committed myself to exercise doing cardio 5-6 days a week for at least 45min and i've started on my Total Gym as well. Your story in the newsletter was great. I wish you much continued success and i will be following your posts. Take Care and God Bless!! P.S. beautiful kids
Congrats!!!
We are really happy for you Amy!
Amy, trust me girl, you give WAY more than you get. I think you have to be one of THE most supportive people on the NS Board. You do your best to answer every single post and be as positive and motivating as you possible can. You deserve all the praise you got and then some!
Heather
Hi cchristymike,
Thanks for your comments. Congrats to you on your committment to a good exercise program- it can make all the difference! I think doing NS with your own foods soon is a great idea, especially if you are starting to get bored with the packaged foods. Thanks again for your sweet post, and good luck to you!
Hi Heather,
I don't know that I give more than I get from the boards. I definitely feel like I get so much from each of you every day! Thank you for all your support and frienship on the BB, and thanks for your nice comments here as well!
Amy, congrats on the Newsletter!! I loved reading your story. I guess I'm running a few days behind everybody else, catching up on things. You look so gorgeous, and those kids are adorable. I'm so glad they chose to do a story on you; you're so inspiring to newcomers (and oldies like me). Way to go!
Voluptua,
Thanks for all the kind comments!!! I was honored to be asked to do the story. It really meant the world to me! Thanks for posting!!!
Dear Amy,
You are amazing. Your story is such a great inspiration and testimony. I have had such a struggle for eight years after being diagnosed with and illness and you give me hope. I have 72 pounds to lose and I am down 14 after a month and I am so thankful. They need to put you on a commercial. My one question is how do you find the time to do so much exercise? I can get about 20 minutes of cardio and 10 minutes of weight training 3 or 4 times a week, but that is it! Anyway, my deepest congratulations to you for a job well done – you did it!!!!! You are absolutely gorgeous.
God Bless,
Renne’ (beeby)
Hi Renne',
Thanks so mush for your sweet comments! Congrats on your 14 lb loss in just a month. That's awesome! As for the exercise, I am lucky enough to have a hubby who works from home part of the morning (so I can run outside if I want) and I am also a stay-at-home mom, so I am able to exercise later in the morning if need be. I also have two VERY patient children! Great job on the exercise that you are able to get in. EVERY bit helps. Don't down-play it because you feel it may not be as much as others. There are so many who do none at all, and I guarantee you that your weight loss rate will reflect the exercise you do. Great job!
Amy,
I have been on Nutrisystem since February of this year. Your story is one that is the most inspirational to me for many similarities we seem to have. I too, actually live in CO, I am a stay at home mom, and I started out at 160 pounds and want to reach a goal of 125. I seem to have reached a plateau and losing weight gets more difficult after the huge loss that everyone gets at the beginning. I have a question for you. When one loses weight there is that belly flab that seems impossible to get rid of. Obviously you did it. How did you get rid of the belly flab?
Thanks for your inspirational story. I read your story whenever I get discouraged at not losing much weight.
Hi Cindy,
I don't know if you'll see my answer here or not, but here goes. Thanks for the post. After the initial fast weight loss (mostly water weight loss) your body will slow down to a 1-2 lb/week loss. This is normal and healthy. You will probably experience closer to 2 lbs/week if you implement a good solid exercise program. As for the tummy flab, that will go away with the rest of the weight as you lose. It's usually the last of the lbs to go, so just stick with the weight loss until you are satisfied. You can do ab exercises to strengthen the muscles underneath the skin and fat, but the only thing that will help get rid of the belly fat is cardio exercise. Just stick with the diet and exercise and you'll get to where you want to be. Best of luck to you!
Amy
